On Thursday morning, Cabo San Lucas Port Authority recommended shutting down the port due to fast moving winds at 8:30am local time.
According to the Port Captain, Vicente Morales, there was a storm within the vicinity of the harbor. Morales had to issue a warning to the local boat operators. If the wind didn’t let up he would have to close the port to all operations.
Because the winds didn’t let up by 9:00am local time, the port authority closed the port due to gusts of wind exceeding 30+ miles per hour. The port closed for the day for small vessels, hurting the local work populace. Hopefully the winds will be calmer tomorrow.
